LITERACY

Musically literate students can approach music from various angles (note-reading, lead sheets, improvisation, theory, aural skills), so they can make and enjoy music wherever, whenever, with whomever!

Through active listening, bodily awareness, technical exploration, and repertoire, students join the long tradition of making music at the piano, cultivating their ability to hear and physically create beautiful sounds.

LIFE

SKILLS

LIFE SKILLS

Let’s face it: making music is hard! It takes focus, patience, and practice to perfect musical skills. Lessons cultivate life skills that extend beyond the piano bench, integrating problem solving, goal setting, time management, internal motivation, confidence, and collaboration—to name just a few!

COMMUNITY

ENGAGEMENT

COMMUNITY

ENGAGEMENT

Music is not made in a vacuum; it’s meant to be enjoyed with those around us! Studio and community events foster an awareness of music’s power in society. By designing curriculum based on national and international markers of success at the piano, students also become a part of a global community of music makers.
